How to start a MakerSpace...one way anyway!
There are many models of a MakerSpace that schools can incorporate: in classrooms, in library media centers, after school! The model that we selected may not be for everyone. We identified specific needs that would guide our implementation of the space.
We have organized the way in which we approached this in the following way:
- We needed (and continue to need) to build the capacity of our teachers in areas of learning that are not so familiar to them (such as coding, robotics, 3D modeling).
- We needed to ensure equity of opportunity for ALL of our students.
